This week the EUNE 1v1 tournament came to an exciting end. Out of the heat of battle one man emerged from the battle as victor. It was tibs91 who vanquished all of his opponents to become the first EUNE 1v1 champion. With a glorious victory comes an interview to brag about your skills. Here we go...

So first of all, congratulations on your 1v1 LoL EUNE Tournament victory.

Thank you.

Could you introduce yourself for people who still not know who you are?

Hello, my name is Tibs, 20 years old student from Romania, currently studying Electric Engineering at the Naval Academy; well there isn't much to be said. I've got 2 dogs, plenty of retarded friends which I love and respect, one overly jealous girlfriend and last but not least not enough time to enjoy games as LoL.

In the upper bracket finals you lost to [zG]Lvide, what were your thoughts when you had to face him again in the overall finals?

My biggest mistake at that moment I think it would have been the fact that I didn't actually treat any match till that point in the tournament seriously. I felt impaired, due to the fact that in those several days before the semifinals I’ve been having such a bad streak (my match history was full of defeats) therefore my morale went down even further.

You did indeed have a sense of trolling in earlier games, like banning all stealth champs or all support champs. Why did you do that, had you given hope for victory up already?

Let's take for example the fact that loosing 2 matches with Livide in our first encounter didn't matter that much (the loses per say). I could emphasize the fact that being bo3, I always troll-banned in the first match, so i could see what he actually plays (if not impaired by bans). In our second encounter my bans were serious. With Viraleus, it was much easier due to the fact that we both knew our strengths and weaknesses (which he exploited in the first match with Annie).

So you and Viraleus have a good friendship going on, did that affect the level of commitment towards defeating him?

Yes, of course that mattered, if we could take into account that on our second match, someone tried to cheat and /w me Viraleus' pick, I wouldn't have had it that way. That is why we made a remake. I troll-banned that match, simply because I was baiting the much beloved Lee Sin on Viraleus' account (and also by having my Riven banned) I tried to force a pure skill mirror match, to actually see who between us is actually better. So yes I could say the level of commitment was pretty high on both accounts.

So in the overall finals you beat Livide twice with a 2-1 score. How did you feel after winning that after all the struggle you've been through?

Tired. To sum it up, the finals were really difficult for me, due to the fact that being 1v1 on the middle lane, me maining top, Livide maining mid, he had the edge. (On that account bruiser vs AP-ranged, is unbalanced simply because the AP could easily zone/harass - bait you in their tower, push much better) therefore I went for the retarded picks selection and they actually worked pretty well. I could say that (in my little experience) the level of surprise on a blind pick could make and break a game.

So what can we expect from the current EUNE 1v1 champion in the future?

Moar troll. After finishing with my finals, and getting back to work as a bartender (yes I love booze that much!), I’ll eventually make time, and create an actual team to represent our clan further (go4lol's jeesports etc).

Sounds good. Is there anything you want all of us to know?
